Audi

Audi AG, part of the Volkswagen Group, has its headquarters in Ingolstadt and is one of the most venerable companies in Germany. Founder August Horch created the company name by translating his surname, which means ā€œlistenā€ in German, into Latin, the word ā€œaudiā€ (ā€œListen!ā€) being the imperative of the Latin verb ā€œaudireā€. ā€œAudiā€ was entered into the Trade Registry in the city of Zwickau in 1910. Audi AG also includes quattro GmbH, which was established in 1983 and has been an official vehicle manufacturer in its own right since 1996.
